The Oh Hellos - I Have Made Mistakes

"I Have Made Mistakes" by The Oh Hellos

"and oh my heart, how can I face you now?
when we both know how badly I have let you down
and I am afraid of all that I’ve built
fading away”

When cryin’ don’t help; you can’t compose yourself, it’s best to compose a poem, an honest verse of longing or simple song of hope.

Amidst all the fighting and politics going on today, the fact that we have ONE nation to stand up for this ONE day where many people lost their lives to save perhaps that ONE person makes me believe that this country is and will forever be together as ONE. We live in a time of turmoil and tragedy everyday but this ONE day is enough for us to remember who we are and where we come from. If we can stop all the hatred and fighting in remembrance for this ONE day, why can’t we do it for every other day? We will always remember the fallen on this September day. Many lives were taken from us. Friends, brothers, fathers, wives, husbands, but we can only remember them and live for them as if they were here with us today. They showed us bravery, strength, integrity, faith. So I thank these people for reminding us that we are still here and that we can live a life without tragedies such as this if we just unite as ONE. ONE nation. ONE country. ONE AMERICA.
